Founded in 1986 and with its headquarters in Rüsselsheim, DETEC’s product portfolio comprises products from the area of output management which use the formatting of output data, texts and layout to produce premium attractive business documentation such as accounts, invoices, orders or product documentation. DETEC’s core product is the diffused LaserSoft-System and its successor, DoXite.
Automatic formatting, production and distribution of documents
DoXite® und LaserSoft® transform source data from various applications automatically into designed, reader-friendly documents in the individual company layout. The data format required for business communication (e.g. PDF, XML or HRML) can be selected flexibly. The documents thus produced can be issued in parallel, thus saving both time and money, via various channels - printer, fax, e-mail, as a digital archive copy, in the web or in the intranet.
Unicode for international use
DoXite, the latest generation of the successful LaserSoft system for Windows, Linux and Unix systems was conceived from scratch with a new object-oriented design. It processes Unicode and can be used internationally. Using the data from numerous application programs - even from ERP programs such as SAP - DoXite generates dynamically designed documents and provides a variety of output drivers and interfaces for printers and electronic media. DoXite is already certified for all SAP output formats.
Modular structure for individual adaptation
The modular construction of DoXite can be easily integrated in spooling or output management systems and can be linked with the processes of other components. A programmable interface for object-oriented script languages, e.g. Python enables individual adaptation. The user can obtain an overview of all DoXite projects and the workflow in the output management system via the central module ICE (Integrated Configuration Environment). This graphical user interface enables configuration and administration of the entire system.
Providing data with a unitary structure, developing documents flexibly
Two further modules are used in the layout of dynamical documents and forms: The data styler reads the various formats of the source data and converts them into XML. The document styler subsequently determines the layout of the document and places the variable XML data in their correct positions. Using the API integrated DoXite server, documents can be immediately provided as PDF files independently of the output management system on the basis of variable data. Moreover, the server enables the preview of formatted documents.
Stand alone solutions for output management
In addition to the "large" software systems DoXite and LaserSoft, DETEC provides a series of stand alone solutions. PDF documents and the usual graphic formats (pictures) from archives or the digital inbox can be converted (corrected) into PDF/A conform documents (ISO 19005-1) or other PDF versions using the myPDFconvert® software developed in 2006. In complex SAP environments, mySPAD® automatically synchronizes and updates printer master data in connected SAP and output systems.
Customers and operators in countless branches
Reliable software products, experienced professionals, quick support and individual services have made DETEC a successful business communications partner for companies from various branches. Today, over 400 firms in the German-speaking world alone use LaserSoft in the manufacturing and output of their documents. More than 200 customers from quite different branches use LaserSoft in SAP environments to produce customer-oriented, reader-friendly documents. Ever-more customers use DoXite in conjunction with the LaserSoft system. Users include firms from the automobile and ancillary industries, the food, pharmacy, chemical and IT industry, telecommunications firms, energy providers, banks as well as private, local government and government IT service providers. Thus DETEC counts amongst one of the most experienced and successful specialists for document composition & output.
Reinforcement for the beta system portfolio
In its takeover of the DETEC group, Beta Systems rounds off its output portfolio and provides its customers in both mainframes as well as in decentralized open systems and SAP environments with the products LaserSoft/DoXite, Beta 93, LDMS and Beta UX solutions for the entire process chain from formatting and production to the distribution of documents.
