Auconet BICS becomes Infraray BICS
Multi-talent for network visibility and management of large IT infrastructures
Berlin, March 16, 2023 – Founded in 1998 by a German engineering team with long experience in IT operations management, Auconet has successfully implemented numerous projects for medium-sized and large companies in recent years, including Deutsche Bahn, Berliner Wasserbetriebe, Rewe Retail and Finanz Informatik. Its core business is solutions for network management, security and automation, IT infrastructure management and the control of the complete business infrastructure. Now the software manufacturer is opening a new chapter with the renaming of its software suite from Auconet BICS to Infraray BICS.
With Infraray BICS, the company – part of the Beta Systems Group since 2018 – has created a highly scalable multi-functional tool for network visibility and management of large IT infrastructures. Like X-ray vision, BICS illuminates IT infrastructures down to the lowest level, creating the conditions for control and security. This unique product characteristic will be manifested even more in the new product and company name Infraray in the future.
“The renaming reflects exactly what our technology is all about,” says Hartmut Bolten, Managing Director of Infraray. Infraray BICS addresses IT infrastructure from top to bottom, scanning, visualizing and securing them from a central user interface. The software is highly scalable for networks from the smallest to over one million endpoints and secures all connected assets through its multi-tenant and head/sub architecture. Infraray BICS connects devices from any manufacturer, which are managed via a central configuration management database.
Currently, Infraray is enhancing a number of product optimizations. The graphical user interface has been completely changed to a modern WebClient. Improved analysis of routing information allows network discovery via seed routers as well as exact detection of network boundaries for localization of edge devices. In the area of flow reporting, there are more detailed observation sets for industrial or predictable environments. Furthermore, network traffic can be monitored using deny/allow lists as well as automatically importing available compilations from command & control servers and alerting their usage.
Infraray’s roadmap for 2023 includes features such as visualization of a Layer3 topology, path detection of communicating components, renewal and expansion of the administration GUI for self-management of the appliance (self-deployment: patches and software updates), expanded support for virtualized environments, and improvement of endpoint profiling.
