Sopra Financial Technology GmbH Successfully Migrates Garancy Suite to the AWS Cloud

The project began in January 2024 with a comprehensive analysis of the standard version of the cloud-based IAM solution Garancy@Cloud. The goal was to assess how the solution could be efficiently self-managed and operated in the cloud. Implementation started in September 2024, and the system went live successfully on April 16, 2025.

Previously, the company operated the Garancy Identity Manager and Garancy Portal in a locally hosted on-premises environment. Following integration with its parent company and driven by the need for a modern and future-proof infrastructure, Sopra Financial Technology GmbH decided to transition to the cloud. The advantages are clear: reduced maintenance effort, flexible resource scaling, and a transparent, demand-oriented cost structure.

Planning, feasibility analysis, and implementation of the migration to the AWS Cloud placed high demands on the project team. However, thanks to the streamlined architecture of the deployed technology stack, Sopra Financial Technology GmbH was able to execute the “lift & shift” process successfully with internal resources and without any downtime.
