Ansible

ANOW! Automate orchestrates Ansible playbooks and ad-hoc commands, transforming configuration management into a governed component of your enterprise operating model. This integration ensures unified execution, disciplined lifecycle management, and predictable outcomes across hybrid IT environments, moving Ansible from isolated scripts into a central control plane.

Ansible

About the Integration

The ANOW! Automate for Ansible integration provides enterprise-grade orchestration, governance, and unified management for Ansible playbooks and scripts. It allows enterprises to retain Ansible for infrastructure and configuration automation while moving it into a governed, event-driven orchestration platform. This enables Ansible playbooks to be scheduled, chained with other tools like Terraform or SAP, parameterized with contextual variables, secured by ANOW!'s security model, and versioned in Git.

ANOW! Automate invokes Ansible via its semi-agentless architecture, supporting both centralized Ansible control nodes and playbooks stored within ANOW! tasks or in the customer's Git repository. This setup enables event-driven triggers based on code changes in Git for CI/CD, scheduled patching, or on-demand configuration of servers and cloud instances. Secure credential management is handled through external Secret Vaults, and all Ansible operations are subject to role-based access control (RBAC).

This integration is designed for enterprise IT decision-makers, platform teams, and DevOps engineers managing complex hybrid IT landscapes. It helps organizations integrate Ansible-based configuration and remediation into existing orchestration, ensuring compliance, improving efficiency, and future-proofing their automation strategy without replacing existing playbook libraries.

Integration Benefits

Unified Observability

Consolidate Ansible playbook and script execution, exit codes, and logs into a single operational dashboard. This provides native access to run status for faster incident detection and reduced Mean Time to Resolution (MTTR), improving operational transparency.

Enterprise Governance

Transform Ansible usage from ad-hoc, decentralized script execution into a fully managed component of your enterprise operating model. This ensures consistent standards, versioned change control, and strong identity governance across all Ansible operations.

End-to-End Orchestration

Integrate Ansible-based workloads into governed enterprise flows, sequencing them with upstream provisioning and downstream deployment tasks. Dynamically pass parameters and centrally manage dependencies for reliable execution across your hybrid environment.

Security & Compliance

Ensure full audit traceability for all Ansible operations by integrating with corporate identity and securely retrieving Ansible and target-system credentials from vaults. Apply robust role-based access control (RBAC) and enforce the four-eyes principle on task creation.
