Beta Systems Software AG Welcomes the New z17 with IBM Telum II and the Spyre Accelerator!

We have already been able to successfully implement hybrid AI projects with the IBM z16 and the first Telum processor and transferred AI models trained on a decentralized platform to the IBM z16 architecture using the "Machine Learning Interoperability" system (ONNX) and successfully operated them on the IBM z16 Telum processor. The execution of the AI models on the Telum architecture convinced us not only with their stability, but also with their impressive performance. In doing so, we have successfully combined two seemingly separate worlds: scalable AI training on generic infrastructure and high-performance inference in the usual IBM reliability on the Telum processor. With Telum, IBM has laid the foundation for using AI natively on the mainframe in business-critical applications reliably and efficiently – and with Telum II, this path is being pursued consistently and forward-looking.
