How can established mainframe technology evolve to meet the demands of AI, hybrid IT, and modern enterprise environments?
Eduardo Raygadas de la Torre from Versaria shares his perspective on Beta Systems’ transformation and the opportunities emerging from a new generation of enterprise technology. He discusses how combining proven mainframe expertise with innovations in artificial intelligence, automation, and observability can help organizations address changing customer requirements.
Eduardo also highlights the opportunities for bringing new solutions to industries such as banking and retail, particularly in the Mexican market. For him, Beyond 2026 represents a fresh vision for Beta Systems – one that builds on decades of expertise while embracing modern technologies and practical AI applications to support customers on their journey toward hybrid IT environments.
Why did you attend Beyond26?
It's interesting for us to understand how Beta Systems is looking for the future in terms of the new artificial intelligence wave that is changing the way the customer is looking for all technology, like the mainframes.
How the mainframes will survive, and also how the mainframes will take advantage of the artificial intelligence wave. So in my opinion, Beta Systems, unfortunately, in some markets like ours, is looking like a company of a very old type of software provider. No. So now I see that you are now doing a lot of things towards a new vision.
A new generation of Beta Systems technology. And, in my opinion, since I was a mainframe technician, and still loving the mainframe, it's nice to hear that Beta System is evolving to a new era, using the new technology available and making all the products you offer more suitable for what the customer is looking in the mainframe and on the hybrid technology that most of the customers are looking for.
How would you describe the balance between experience and innovation at Beta Systems?
I think it's exactly the way Mirko described. You have to combine the old technology with the new era, and providing solutions in such a way that you are still an attractive vendor. And in Mexico, I think that Beta is helping us as Versaria a lot to penetrate this banking industry, the retail industry. So now we have the challenge with you together to bring new options, new alternatives.
What role does automation play in your organization?
No, I think you are changing the idea of automation. You are bringing new alternatives for the customer, and I see we will have a new message for the customer, for observability, for automation, for seeing us as a real vendor that brings them new options, new alternatives. So yes, we see a transformation in the offering, the portfolio that Beta is offering, and us as your partner, as Versaria is offering to the market.
What is your key take away from Beyond26?
The most important thing is that I see Beta Systems from the setup being transforming to a new marketing message with a sense of new vision, of not just seeing us as an old technology but as a new and evolving technology accordingly to what the market is looking.
Yeah. So I don't feel being out of this event, I see that I have more arguments and more facts to share with the customer that we are having Beta Systems with a new era, with a new, fresh message and new innovation software that will fit very well with what the customer is looking for, for automation, for observability, and for the challenge of using AI for certain ways very practically in their environment.
